Why has my editory changed all my jef files to ngs file and how do I fix it?

My sewing machine is an Elna Haute Coture 9600 (Janome MC 11000), It will not recognize the ngs files and now none of my embroidery files will work to transfer to my embroidery machine. How do I fix this?
