It's very hard to work with the NVR/DVR recordings especially when they continuously record a file. If the file was deleted, recovery would be impossible since we all know if video files get corrupted, there is a small chance you'll be able to play them.
When you delete a file and start a new recording, the software automatically fills a file and then writes the data in it, causing other files that were previously delete to stop working.
