RIM is the additional extension for files generated by the BlackBerry devices. You can see files of this type added along with the original filenames like example.jpg.rim or example.mp3.rim. The extension is added so the device could easily recognize its files. Transferring these files to PC and then removing the .RIM extension could easily get you the result you want.
