If you can't save to PDF by default, then simply use the Print method. Install a virtual PDF printer drivers and instead of Save as, use Print, select the virtual driver then choose a name for your PDF and you are good to go.
I recommend installing the the CutePDF Writer for this operation. I've used it in many apps where I had to export the content, but the PDF option was missing.
Install note: Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet since installation of a 3rd party module (open source GhostScript) is necessary.
