How to hide friends stories?

I have a friend whom I'd rather not see there stories pop up on my profile, but I do not want to delete them as a friend. How can I do this?

Unfortunately, there is no Hide Stories button available within Snapchat. I've checked multiple sources of information and they all state the same thing: you either get past the story and ignore it or you simply remove that friend from your friend's list and the stories won't appear any more in your feed.

There is no other "workaround" or application that can tweak this for you.
