Although the software has a boost option regarding the volume of the videos and audio files opened, it is most likely that the video or audio file is corrupted. Also please make sure that the audio option is enabled in the settings menu. You can check that by using the Main menu > Tools > Preferences or simply press CTRL+P key combination and click on Audio icon in the left part of the window. Enable Audio has to be checked for the audio function to work properly.
