This usually happens when you select a big resolution for your video and the Quicktime application is set to display the video in its native resolution as well. You can either zoom out to make it smaller or choose another resolution in the application that you have used to create the video. Zooming will keep the file intact, while selecting another resolution will make some modifications to the video. Quality and file size can be affected based on the used settings.
