Green dot beside profile picture on LINE.

I noticed that some of my contacts show a green dot at the top of their profile photo. What does it mean? Is it online status as with Facebook? Or does it mean something else? Can you please let me know?

Yes, the green dots mean that the contact is online, but that dot is specific only to LINE application. There are applications where the online presence is determined by a simple text under the name (eg. WhatsApp). Facebook uses the same green dot to indicate online presence for when the Messenger application is used.
