I receive error 9004 when trying to open my company file.

This happens when you moved the software from another location. Luckily, there is an easy way to fix it.

Open Notepad, and based on your system architecture, copy and paste the following code:

  • 32-Bit

    [HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\MYOB Technology
    [HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\MYOB Technology\AU
    [HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\MYOB Technology\AU\MSC][HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\MYOB Technology\AU\MSC\3.0]
    “JavaHome”=”C:\Program Files\MYOB\Common\JRE”

  • 64-Bit

[HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\MYOB Technology][HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\MYOB Technology\AU]
[HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\MYOB Technology\AU\MSC]
[HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\MYOB Technology\AU\MSC\3.0]
“JavaHome”=”C:\Program Files\MYOB\Common\JRE”

Save the file using File > Save as (All Files): 32/64bit.reg. Merge the registry file and launch the software and it should work.

Make sure that you also have JRE installed on your computer.
