When you receive an Access Violation error, it means the software is trying to access a protected zone in the memory that's already been occupied by something else (another application). In case the software is using the same memory address over and over again, press CTRL + Shift + Esc and then force all the applications that are currently running on your PC to close. Eventually, use the System Tray to close the apps as well, then run the software again, and it should work.
Secondly, this could also be a bug in the application's code. Go to Help > About or Help > Check for updates to install the latest version of the software.
