Why isn't it recognizing the USB device connect to the computer?

I'm trying to update the firmware on my Grandma Digital 2. I have everything downloaded, but the PAD Product Tool isn't recognizing the USB device that is connect. I've been playing with it every way I know how, even updated the PAD (which doesn't work either, because it tells me that the firmware in invalid but it works if I don't update the PAD). I don't know what else to do, I'm tried of sitting here looking at the computer. Someone please help.

I have searched for information related to PAD Product Tool and Grandma Digital 2, but the problem is that nothing exists about it. If you still have the product, access its HELP section to read about various instructions on how to properly update the firmware. Secondly, there could be the possibility that your device might lack support for PAD Product Tool.
