I downloaded Internet Explorer 11, now none of my programs on my computer work properly.
It's very unlikely that Internet Explorer causes those crashes. The possible reason is that those apps need a certain version of Internet Explorer and you're using a different one.
However, I would like to recommend checking the support page offered by Microsoft related to Internet Explorer problems: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/ie-crashes-stops-working#ie=ie-11
If any of the problems is similar to the one you're having and there is a FixIT tool available, download and run it.
