There could be a couple of causes for this issue like:
The ink tanks are empty and the printer doesn't print anything. Try switching to Black and White only. Sometimes it works.
The driver isn't installed properly. Go to Start > Run > devmgmt.msc and make sure that everything is installed properly.
The cable connecting the printer to PC is cut or damaged. A replcement is necessary.
The printer is actually faulty and needs service repair.
