You need to use the built-in Help of the application because I have tried to find a user guide or instructions on how to change the scale bar measurement unit and didn't find anything useful. Go to Help > Contents or look in the installation directory for PDF manuals or user guides. You will find all the information there, since no official document could be found for this procedure.
