No, you can't use the old Xbox because that unit is using proprietary file system, devices, technology, etc. Unless it's specified in the features or in the documentation that you can use the software/product exclusively with the Xbox device, then it's impossible. There are certified products that work with all versions of Xbox. I have checked and didn't find anything related.
