USB drive is duplicated instead of being cleaned and ejected

I have tried the HiM application and experienced a strange behavior: when used to clean and eject some USB memory sticks, it creates a copy of the entire USB memory stick on the desktop instead of ejecting the drive after cleaning. This does not happen with all USB memory sticks, but only with some. What could be the reason? I'm using Mac OS X 10.10.5.

The developer of this application doesn't have it listed anywhere on its website. I have tried to access troubleshooting data or user guides, but it's impossible to do so. Additionally, the strange behavior might be caused by the fact that the USB drivers are not full and instead of ejecting them, it creates a backup copy. Try copying a file on the USB and then use HiM and watch the behavior.
