Router passwords are usually stored in the configuration file which is found on the storage ram of the router and this file is accessible through export operations. In order to save the admin password of the router, you will need to export entire configuration file to a place on your PC. This is handy especially when you perform a master reset of the router and you want to get everything back using a backup configuration of the settings file. If the configuration file is in plain text, you can open it into Notepad for additional review but usually these files come in .bin format.
