Indeed, the BitComet installation triggers the antivirus, because it installs something called boost service, and because of that it's possible that the antivirus triggers itself and identifies the application as a virus. Additionally, the installation also offers 3rd party programs.
My advice is to add the program to exception list in your antivirus and then uncheck any other offers.
Disable Disk Boost Service: Go to Start > Run > services.msc and locate BitComet Disk Boost Service. Right click it, select Properties and then make it look like it's show in the image below:
