The error you report on is usually hardware-related. The only adjustments that you can make are to slow down the writing speed and if it's a large file (that you're trying to burn) you could increase the virtual memory:

  • Go to Control Panel->System
  • Click on Advanced tab
  • Click on Setting in the Performance field
  • Click on Advanced Tab
  • Click on Change and increase the memory size

But, as mentioned before, this is usually a hardware related error because the issues come from the media choice and how dirty the burner drive is. You should get a CD/DVD drive lens cleaner (an optical drive should be cleaned at every 20 hours of use) and get the discs from a different brand than before. If it still fails you should consider the option of getting a new optical drive.
