If you have issues with the Shockwave, then I recommend disabling extensions that block its usage such as AdBlock or NoScript. After this procedure, use a new tab bar and then download the installation package. Close the browser, then overwrite the current installation on your PC and try loading a Shockwave enabled page and it should load normally.
After installation you will be taken to a page where you can check if the plug-in was installed successfully or not.
