Since there is no troubleshooting for the OCR function, I recommend you reinstall the application using its own CD. When you are presented with the installation instructions, choose FULL or Typical. The OCR function should be available and ready for use by means of Scan and OCR function.
The application is not available for download from its official website, since products of this type are usually delivered on CDs that arrive with your device. Use that to install the application again.
