I've heard that when we use BitTorrent there’s a good chance that our IP-addresses are being logged by anti-piracy groups. Is it true? What should I do to boost my BitTorrent speed and privacy? How do blocklists work?

Yes, anti-piracy log the IP addresses that are used to download copyright material. You will need a VPN to encrypt the torrent connections. Luckily, there are plenty of these services available. To boost the speed, find a torrent with big number of seeds and peers, and open the port you use to connect. That means you should make it connectable. Connect to your router and add the IP where BitTorrent is installed along with the port. This should make you connectable, therefore the speed will increase.

Blocklists are used or torrent clients to block anti-piracy groups, government and any other copyright company from getting info about your IP when downloading.
