Is Foxit Reader malware?

I installed Foxit Reader Free, but I keep seeing a start page with ads. Does this mean I installed adware with it?

No, the application isn’t malware. Those ads are embedded into the application by the developers to promote their additional products. To disable the ads, go to Preferences > General. Uncheck Show Advertisement and restart the application. Next time you start the software, ads won’t appear anymore.
