Steel design error.

Question

I am a user of STAAD pro v8i and every time I try to complete the steel design, it comes up with this annoying error: "Access to c:\Users\MyName.dbi was denied". I don't know why this is happening and could there be any immediate solution to this? Please a quick reply would be greatly appreciated.

When you receive a message like that, it means the file is either locked or the application you use doesn't have access to that file. There are two ways to access the file in the STAAD.PRO.

1. Close all the applications that you think it might have access to file and then open it again.

2. Run STAAD Pro V8i with Administrator rights. Right click the shortcut on your desktop and then choose Run As Administrator. A username with administrator rights is required in order for this to work.
