Program freezes.

We are running the CardAccess 195 on a Windows XP computer. We've been using this program for years. Yesterday it started to freeze up while I was entering a new employee access code. Whenever I go to SAVE en new employee code, the program freezes. I've tried rebooting the PC, I've tried doing a defrag. I also ran a system restore. What else can I try to get this to stop freezing up when I try to add and save a new access code?

Try changing compatibility settings of the application. For example, right click it and choose Properties > Compatibility. From the drop down menu, select an older version of the Windows OS. Secondly, close all the running applications, including the antivirus (right click its icon and disable protection). Reboot the computer then try running the software again and repeat the procedure. The problem could also be caused by file corruption, registry settings, etc.

If you believe this is the case, backup all the data from the application, then re-install it. The procedure will fix all the errors with the files and registry items.
