AVRUBD File Version 4.5.0.496 information.

Question

I am trying to use AVRUBD File Version 4.5.0.496, HEX Bootloader to update the firmware on a tracking device. The program was supplied with the unit. I can load the HEX file into the Bootloader, but it throws up the following error Buffer overflow [8208] > [8192] which suggests the HEX file has not fully loaded. Can you confirm this and is there anything I can do to avoid the error? I don't profess to be an expert so any assistance would be appreciated.

The problem has 3 possible causes:

1. The COM port used is not the correct one, therefore uploading the file to the device is not successful. I recommend checking the Virtual COM port in Device manager while plugging/unplugging the device.

2. Check the manual of the device you are trying to update the firmware on because it's possible the bootloader operation is denied through USB.

3. Additionally, the flash size needs to be selected carefully. Go to Option menu and choose the correct flash size then load the file again.
