Yes, the application can be stopped without losing anything. This is a system application that is installed on compatible Android Samsung phones. Unfortunately, it can't be removed without Root access, but it can be stopped. Go to Applications list > Settings > Applications manager/Apps > All > Samsung Link > Clear (data, cache) > Force Stop. Reboot the phone and its usage will be stopped.
