Does the company store the database? There was a shortcut created on the desktop to recipe center and now the recipes that have been input over the years are missing.

Yes, according to the description of the software, the developers hold their recipes if you signed in, but now I see the website doesn't display anything. If you've signed in and used a username to upload your recipes, then they're long gone unless they return. You will have to add the recipes again on the local database.
