Unable to start Hitachi backup (local).

I am having problems with my Hitachi backup. I disconnected my computer for a few days and when I reconnected everything my backup will not turn on. On the cloud settings is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark and a scrolling bar that seems to be searching for something. I cannot access any of the links to reset up the back up. I have tried uninstalling and re-downloading the software, but it is still the same. I would be grateful for any help as it takes ages to back up manually.

The triangle may indicate a warning. While it's not an error, I believe the software can't connect to the Cloud servers. Try turning off the firewall (Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall) then reboot the PC and attempt to connect again. Secondly, check the proxy settings of your browsers, especially Internet Explorer, then try again to connect. Additionally, access the Services menu (Start > Run > Services) and locate Hitachi Backup in the list. If it's stopped, right click it and select Start. This could also be a problem with the software.

Thanks for the quick response. I have tried turning the firewall off and it is still the same problem. Proxy settings have not been changed, and I have checked the services and hitachi is running. I have been using the software without problems for over a year and find it strange to just suddenly have this problem after having it turned off for a few days. I have downloaded a new version and installed that with exactly the same problem. I have never used the cloud service provided. Any other solutions would be great. Thanks.

You have to download the framework from Microsoft to allow it to work.
