What if I set the recovery location as same as the location of their place of lost? Example I lost partition at drive D, then I want to set the recovery path to drive D? Will it fail to recover?

The partition recovery application will try to restore the partition exactly as it was, however, it's not recommended to use the same location to replace the files. No, the recover won't work and it will actually fail. Once you start a recovery process, in no way the destination should be the original place of the files because:

  1. It's not possible.

  2. The contents you are trying to restore will be lost for good.

For all the recovery operations, always use another location.
