Activation denied and returns "Unknown error".

Used to work with this software on my Compaq Mini (Windows XP) and now there is no way to activate this app on My Pavilion 360 (Windows 8.1).

  • Signing in to my old account: Unknown error.
  • Clicking forgot password": Unknown error.
  • Creating new account: Unknown error.

What should I do?

This is a case of compatibility between Windows XP and Windows 8.1 when it comes to the application. You will have to visit the HP Support website. Enter the model of your laptop and check if there are drivers and software for Windows 8.1.

Note: It might be possible that the laptop or device to lack support for Windows 8.1 as well.

Thank you for your answer.
I think this is not related to any driver issue and is not a hardware issue.
The software was installed on the Pavilion 360 wich is running Windows 8.1.
The activation procedure is returning "Unknown error".
Is it possible that the software itself is not designed to run under Windows 8.1 environment?
