Unable to download iTunes on Windows 7.

I have a new computer with latest Firefox. When I try to download iTunes the following message appears:

The address wasn't understood Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (itmss) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context. You might need to install other software to open this address.

What do I need to do?

First install iTunes from the official website. If you can't download it through the website, use the following direct download URL: https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunes11/031-06980.20140909.Ffgt9/iTunes64Setup.exe

Install the software then go to Firefox > Tools > Applications. Search for the itmss protocol. Click it then use the drop down menu to browse to iTunes. Accept the modification and next time you'll click a itmss:// protocol link, iTunes will automatically open it.
