The application requires Android 2.3 and up, and your device comes pre-installed with Android 2.2. Connect to a WiFi network, then go to Settings > About phone > Software Update. Register for an account if you don't have one (Samsung account) then check for updates. Update the phone to 2.3 and then access the Hike entry at Play Store. There is no other way around except this one.
