IDT is a software related to the sound codecs and contains the drivers for the AC'97 module. This ensures normal sound playback on your computer. Removing it will prevent you from listening to sounds on the computer. Try to remove it from the Device Manager, restart the computer and then re-install it again. It should work this way. Make sure to not let Windows install the default drivers. Simply cancel the install procedure and install the correct drivers first.
