I no longer use alternative email accounts used when I registered for an Yahoo account. What to do?

My Yahoo account has been hacked. I say this because I can't log in using my password. I tried to change password and I was asked to pick (out of my 2 alternate accounts) which of the accounts I want response to be sent to.

Unfortunately, the two accounts no longer exist - one is for my former place of work and the other has been blocked due to non-usage. How do I get passed this request from Yahoo since I need to stop the hacker from wreaking damage?

Instead of alternate email recovery, use the security questions. If you know the answers to the security questions, you will be able to recover the password for your account. Security questions recovery method is the only thing that can save you when all other recovery methods fail.
