Kids configured a lock and I don't know what numbers they used. We can not open the Nook device. Can you help?

Children have Nooks and set a 4 number passcode but now they do not remember the 4 numbers. How do we get the code or unlock the Nook so they can use it?

If the device is connected to a WiFi network, enter the password until it asks you to enter the recovery PIN. Use forgot PIN option and wait a few minutes. The PIN will be emailed to the account attached to the device. Visit your email and obtain the PIN then enter it on the device and you will have access. To remove the PIN, go to Menu > Settings > Security.
