To make the pictures appear again, go to Settings > Applications manager and tap on WhatsApp. If you cannot find the application, make sure that the All tab is selected. Once you have tapped the WhatsApp, activate Clear Data and Clear cache. After this operation restart the phone and start WhatsApp. You will need to activate it again.
