If your mobile asked for your Gmail ID it means that you have entered many times a wrong pattern or password. I recommend you to enter your Gmail ID and password and then go to Settings > Location and security > Set screen lock > and select Pattern. If you don't know your Gmail ID and password, the only way to unlock your phone is to perform a factory reset.
