In order to fix the issue, check your Internet connection. If there isn't any problem, navigate to Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall and temporarily disable it. Do the same with your security program and try again to log in. If you can't, uninstall the application and download and install the updated version of the utility.
