Manage FAX and Phone connections.

Question

I have two phone connections from one phone line. I'd like the incoming fax to take over on the first ring. I have both fax machine and phone hooked up. When phone rings, "fax sound" starts up and continues until hang up phone, while no fax actually came in.

I would like to recommend you a fax manager application because it's more easier to manage the incoming calls or faxes. The application is capable of detecting the fax operation and use the correct procedure for incoming. However, you will need a V90 56K modem for this that can be found at a very cheap price nowadays. On a side note, you cannot configure the fax and phone using separate ringing and incoming because you're using them on the same line. They will both ring until one is answered.
