I have an old (12 years) Packard Bell computer with Windows 98 and have never used the CD writer. I am a bookseller and I've been using a program called HomeBase 2. I want to transfer the data to my new laptop which runs Windows 7 via the disc writer so I can use it with a newer version of HomeBase 3. I can't figure out what to do. Can you please help me?

In order to use your CD writer, you will need to install a program that can work with it and is compatible with your OS. Use Google in order to find a burning utility. I suggest you look for Nero, because this company released versions of its burning utility that were available for Windows 98. This will help you burn your data to a CD and transfer it to your new laptop.
