I use a TomTom Go Live1000 since February 2012. Although charging the accumulator, the unit doesn't run without cable junction. The accumulator seams to be no longer OK. Why is this happening? Am I the only one who encounters this?

This is a common behavior when you use devices with accumulators. Accumulators are made of chemical substances that store energy. After a while, due to a lot of chemical reactions consuming the chemical substances, the device slowly loses its ability to store energy. Every user will encounter this behavior at some point. You can use your device connected with the cable or you can purchase a new battery for TomTom.
