This is a window focus problem. Unfortunately, it's hard to diagnose the cause of this error but I recommend you re-install the application or try closing all other background applications that are running, then start Adobe Reader again. It's best to just upgrade the PDF Reader to the latest version, then you can test to see if the issue persists.
