In order to remove Java from your computer, I suggest your use Java Uninstall tool. If it doesn't help, you can use Revo Uninstaller. Even if it can't uninstall the application normally, it will force it to uninstall by wiping out all traces of its presence from the system. Once the software has been removed from your computer, navigate to the official web page, click the Free Java Download button, save the file to your computer and install it following the on-screen instructions.
