I have an Aspire 5920 notebook with a built-in Crystal web camera. After updating Windows XP Professional, the webcam is not working. It displays "Web camera not found". What can I do?

Hello,

I too have an Acer Aspire 5920 and I encountered the very same problem a day or two back. Apparently you should try moving all your files from the folder 'My Pictures' from 'My Documents'. Strange and I don't know what it has to do with the cam but do so. Uninstall all existing Acer Crystal Eye drivers and freshly reinstall driver using the latest driver from the Acer website. Once in the website, do select the laptop you have 'Aspire 5920' otherwise the driver would be invalid and therefore won't work. Download and install the driver and shut down the computer for a few minutes, say about 20-30 minutes. Turn it on and the camera should start working again.

Regards.

In order to fix the issue, navigate to Acer Drivers and Manuals web page, identify your computer model, select your operating system and download the latest webcam files. After that, press Windows + R key combination, type devmgmt.msc and click OK. Expand the Imaging Devices list, right-click the webcam driver and select Update Driver Software. Use the Browse option to navigate to the downloaded package, select the driver and install it following the on-screen instructions.
