Seeding allows other peers to obtain the remaining data. Since the peers will download a small amount of data, you will seed only a portion of the files downloaded. It's better to keep seeding until the ratio becomes 1:1. That means you've uploaded as much as you've downloaded. Certain websites might force you to do this or you'll be banned.
