My CanoScan 8800f works fine on an Administrator account, but I receive an "Unknown error. Code = 259" message when I'm logged as an ordinary User. I'm running Windows XP. What can I do?

My CanoScan 8800f works fine on an Administrator account, but I receive an "Unknown error. Code = 259" message when I'm logged as an ordinary User. I'm running Windows XP. What can I do?

Open the MP Navigator EX application, go to Scan/Import tab and click Preferences option. Press the Browse button next to Location of Temporary Files field, click the + sign, select the preferred folder to store temporary scanned files and then click OK. If this doesn't solve the issue, go to Start, type regedit and open the utility. Navigate to HKEY-CURRENT-USER > Software > Canon, right-click on MP Navigator EX and select Permissions. Check the Full Control box for all user names and groups, click Apply and then OK.
