Music CD with file extension ".cda" will not play or rip via Windows Media Player. How can I get over this?

In order to play or rip files, it is required that the Audio CD is inserted in the CD/DVD-Rom, otherwise, it won't work. CDA files can only be played with the required medium in the tray. You will also need to keep the CD inserted at all times while you play or rip it.
