Enabling 3G on Thinkpad

I have a Thinkpad Edge 11 running Windows 7. In Access Connections, the Mobile Broadband is greyed out, although the laptop was sold as "3G enabled". A valid SIM card is installed. How do I activate/enable the onboard 3G modem? I assume there's a driver or something needed.

Regards,
Dave Durban.

The laptop needs an additional module called a WWAN which is implemented by stripping the device by its components. It's called a "tweak" and in its current state you cannot use the SIM card attached. This can be done in two ways: buying a PCIE modem card or manually attaching the module to the motherboard by disassembling the device.
