My phone verbally states that I have a new message and speaks the contact's name or the phone number. How do I turn this off?

I cannot find out where to turn off the option to have it repeat a person's name or a phone number on my new Samsung phone running Android 4.0.4.

This is happening because the driving mode is currently enabled. Please go to Settings > Voice Input and Output then text to speech settings and disable Driving mode.
